Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
You don’t have to come for the whole term – just pop along for the first session and see what you think. No pressure, no follow up and no charge.
St. George’s Alpha runs in the church building on Durham Road, opposite the Shipley Art Gallery and the Gateshead War Memorial. If you need to find us the church office address is 1-9 Inskip Terrace, Gateshead, NE8 4AJ and there is plenty of parking in the streets around St. George’s.
Alpha is completely free of charge, though there may be a suggested donation towards the cost of the food.
Alpha at St. George’s will run for a total of 10 weeks.
Evening Alpha starts on Wednesday 30th January, 7:30 – 9:00pm
Thinking of running Alpha in your community or looking for ideas to take your Alpha course to the next level? What if I missed the first week?
It doesn’t matter if you missed the first week of Alpha – you can catch up online at any point. Anyone is able to register up until session 4; after that we would encourage you to sign up for our next term and come along from session 1.
I live elsewhere in the UK, can I still do Alpha?
Yes, Alpha runs in churches, bars, coffee shops and homes all over the world. Find an Alpha near you on the Alpha Website.
