Advent Lights are BACK!
We’re excited to announce our theme this year is Great Joy, which will be the inspiration for our windows and displays this Christmas.
Join us throughout Advent in decorating one or more of the windows of your home or workplace with the words ‘Great Joy’, and then leave the lights on or the curtains open so that passers by can enjoy your creations.
Here’s some inspiration from last year to get your creative juices flowing:

Decorate one (or more) of the windows of your home. Get some materials, decorate your window together and light it up. Normal house light will work but lamps directed to window will enhance it even more. Make sure you pick a window that faces out onto the street, so that everyone can see it. You can be as creative as you like but please include the words ‘Great Joy’.
You can find some ideas in our Advent Lights Ideas sheet.
If you’re struggling for ideas, why not come along to one of our workshops? With a suggested donation of £3, we’ll provide materials, refreshments and some tips to help you create your display. They’ll both take place at St George’s Church on the following dates:
-Monday 25th November 10-12pm.
-Thursday 28th November 7:30-9pm.
Light up your window/s from 1st – 31st December. Remember to leave your curtains open so that passers by can see your display!
You’ll find the Advent Lights map below in time for the start of December. Get your friends and family together and follow the trail to spot the different displays.
Why not come by to find out more at the Low Fell Food Market on the 23rd of November at Saltwell Park? We’ll have a stall there and some supplies to help kick start your creativity.
