Our next value is Creative. God created us in His image, and we get to be part of something that builds for a New Creation, a Hope-filled people who speak Jesus’ name over places the enemy tries to kill, steal or destroy.
Read Psalm 34 together and chat about what stands out to you about God’s character and His unconditional love for us.
1. In Genesis 1, it says that God created mankind in His own image, which in turn describes us as creative. Do you yourself see yourself as creative, or would others describe you this way?
2. Read John 10:9-11. Evil, the bend toward nothingness, comes to steal, kill and destroy, and to try to strip us of our identity as creation and creative, but God brings life in fullness. Are there times in your life where the enemy has tried to do this? Have you ever felt like you don’t have the resources to build and create even though you had the desire to?
3. Jesus came to give freely, to make us alive and to build up what was dead. He takes on the enemy, as a Good Shepherd, roaring “no more” and invites us to join in, through the Spirit, in the power of the resurrection. What does this look like, both personally and collectively?
We’re called to be part of the New Creation, to speak Jesus’ name over situations, to “feed His sheep” as it says in the gospels, creating environments meeting in grace and meeting with Jesus.
Chat about places in your life God might be calling you to bring His creation, to build something, to speak His freedom and pray into them.
