Love Your Enemies
We continue through the Sermon on the Mount by looking at Matthew 5:38-48 and Jesus’ invitation to love our enemies, battle our desire for retaliation and look to Him for a perfect way of living. Nina shared in morning, and Connor in the evening.
This week on our Discipleship journey we are looking at SHARE, so it’s a great opportunity to think about being in accountability relationships and how they can help in your faith journey. Check our website for details.
Listen to the song Yes I Will by Vertical Worship, closing with a prayer of thanksgiving that in all places and times, God is good and prevails.
1. Read through Matthew 5:38-48; which of the many counter-cultural statements jumps out to you in what Jesus is saying?
2. When we come across difficult people or ongoing struggles, how can we seek to choose love and invite Jesus in?
3. How can we be a community who see people through God’s eyes and live in the freedom that what God promises us, He promises for everyone?
Chat about practical ways that we can do all these things in our day-to-day and how we can support each other in them and pray together that God would fill us with His Spirit to do these things.
