To All and to the Ends of the Earth
The next three weeks we’ll be looking at Acts and how the Holy Spirit brings awakening to the early church and that the same Spirit is alive in us today.
On Sunday we heard from many people throughout the day of how God is speaking to them about bringing His Kingdom here now and how we can all be part of that together.
Listen to Just as I am by Matt Maher, and spend some time praising and thanking God for His grace and mercy in inviting us into relationship with Him just as we are.
1. There were so many ways God spoke to us on Sunday, read Acts 1:1-8 and share what stands out to you from the passage and from what you heard spoken through the different people on Sunday.
2. Verse 8 speaks about how we must bring the good news to the immediate environment (Jerusalem), to those with a familiar experience (Judea), and to reach beyond our expectations (Samaria and all the ends of the earth). How can we bring good news in our environments and in those we aren’t so naturally found in?
3. What gets in the way of us stepping out in God’s power and trusting in His spirit moving through us? Do we easily remember it’s a gift offered to us freely?
The spirit comforts, guides us to the truth and reminds us of Jesus’ words (who God says we are and His promises). How do we become communities who comfort those in need, guide people to God’s truths and remind each other of His words and promises to us and the rest of the world?
Spend time praying together for His spirit to move through each person and reveal places where we can bring good news to
