Words of Light and Life: Joy
Louise unpacks our third theme in our Advent Series, Joy, and helps us understand how we can discover a joy that withstands the craziness and unpredictability of life, by clinging on to the one who is source of all joy.
Worship Suggestion:
We’ve covered so many topics and themes this term, spend some time being thankful together about everything God has done in your community. Listen to each person speak gratitude out loud as a worshipful offering to God.
Group Questions:
1. Chat about what brings you joy? What do you think of when you pray or ask for joy?
2. Read Luke 2:8-12, and chat about what stood out to you from Louise’s talk and the passage.
3. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says “rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” How does this look for us day to day? How can we encourage eachother in this together?
Application/Prayer:
Pray for eachother in how to spread joy over the Christmas season and that each of us would find that joy as we spend time with family, resting or working.
