St. George’s Students is a community of young adults between 18-23 where everyone is welcome. We want to be a home for you and see you flourish whilst studying at university, college or doing an apprenticeship.

We want to see hope and faith rise up in the lives of students all over Gateshead and Newcastle and would love you to come along, find belonging and join in.

Be part of something extraordinary whilst studying

St George’s is located in the central area of Gateshead, 1 mile from central Newcastle. Our vision is to play our part in the seeing our community Come Alive. We are here to Bless the City.

Whilst studying, our invitation is for you to join us in investing in the place we live and the people we live amongst, seeing how God can use you to help show his love to the world. There are lots of ways to do this, from Kids Clubs, work with teenagers to helping families who don’t have the things they need for their newborn children.

As you get involved, our promise is to invest in you so that you can follow Jesus further and grow in discipleship, leadership and mission.

What does it look like to be a Student at St. George’s?

Tuesday Night is Student Night

We meet every Tuesday during term time as a Student community. Tuesdays look a little like this:

HOPE GROUPS

In Hope Groups on a Tuesday night we meet in smaller groups to spend time together building friendships, praying together, we make space to delve deeper into the Bible, who God is and what that looks like for our lives and explore ways to love our world.  They are always a laugh and a great opportunity to discuss life and faith.

COLLECTIVES

On the 4th Tuesday of every month all Student & 18-22s groups will meet as a community at St. George’s to eat together, worship, pray, hear from the Bible, chill and enjoy the night’s entertainment. A great opportunity to meet as one big group to have a 10/10 time.

The Six

This is our evening gathering that happens each Sunday. It’s home to our Student community. Each week we gather together in worship, prayer and to explore the Bible.

After The Six we make space for food and time to get to know each other. We turn the church into a Student led Cafe space, with live music, pub quizzes, toasties, drinks and lots of laughs. It’s an amazing place to find friends and to be known.

Getting to St. George’s

Get involved

St. George’s is a church on an journey. By joining a team whilst studying, you can play your part in the transformation of this society. Everyone who joins a team is invested in by other leaders so that not only do you get to play your part, you can grow as a disciple and a leader.

There are lots of teams to choose from and we’d love you to be part of one. Not only do you get to partner with God in blessing the city, it’s also a great place to meet friends and get extra investment.

Student Weekend at Home

A weekend together as a 18-22’s community. A great opportunity early in the term to grow together. We will eat lots, worship together and have a load of time to get to know one another.

We will meet at St George’s Church Centre Friday at 6pm and we will eat, worship, share testimony and pray together as well as play some great games.

On Saturday we will meet again at 10:00am for brunch, then have a day packed full of fun and plenty of time to chat, get to know each other a little better, ask any questions you might have about church, life and faith and then eat together again in the evening.
