This Summer we are looking forward to having dedicated time to spend together – to deepen friendships, extend welcome and embrace community.
Following on from Focus, our annual church holiday, at the end of July, we are looking forward to August and a holiday pattern of gatherings and social spaces.
Here is all you need to know about Alive Summer 2022:
August Wednesdays
Our August Wednesdays are going to be packed with invitational opportunity! We have something for everyone to join in with and can’t wait to welcome you and your friends.
Here’s what we have planned for Wednesdays 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of August:
On Wednesday mornings, 10-11:30am, we would love you to come along to Hope House for Summer Brunch. It’s for everyone; bring along friends, family or just yourself to join in with Summer Brunch together. We’ll enjoy Hope House Coffee beverages, breakfast pastries and other delights and spend time together. Crafts and play available too!
It would be really helpful if you could let us know you’re coming, so please book via the following link:
If you’re going to be in Y3 or above (Alive Kids ‘Rockets’ or Alive Youth) from September you can come along and join in with some fun and games as we hang out together on Wednesday afternoons, 2-4pm.
We’ll meet at Hope House at 2pm and if the weather is fine we’ll head out to Saltwell Park for rounders and other activities. If its not so good we’ll stay in Hope House Hall and have fun playing dodgeball etc. Join in with games, ice lollies, fun and time hanging out together this summer. On Wednesday nights, 7-9pm, we’ll host our Summer Nights for young adults / 20s & 30s. Summer Nights is a relaxed, informal event in Alexander and Sarah’s garden. We’ll enjoy food, drinks, games and conversation around the fire pit.

Sunday Gatherings
During August our morning gatherings will be all-age, as our usual Alive Kids and Youth sessions take a break for the summer holiday period. We’ll meet together for an hour of all-age worship, prayer and a focus on God’s Kingdom with our summer series ‘The Kingdom of God is like…’. As usual we’ll enjoy cafe time afterwards, and make use of our garden space in the fine weather.
The Six will take on a summer-vibe during our July and August gatherings. We’ll make the most of longer evenings and (hopefully) fine weather with time outside and a chilled-out invitational feel to our evening gatherings. Our vision is to create a place of community & belonging as we pursue Jesus together over the Summer.
End of Summer Garden Party
On the last Sunday of August we’re going to hold a Garden Party after the 10:30 gathering. Join us on Sunday 28th August for an ‘afternoon tea’ lunch together in our garden space, between the church and Hope House.
